Realising Art in Social Realism: The Miracle of Union Film

Union Film Enterprise (1952–1967) was co-founded by 21 filmmakers who shared a common goal of elevating the artistic quality of Cantonese film. This programme features six of Union Film’s most representative works, including Spring (1953), an adaptation of Ba Jin’s eponymous novel; In the Face of Demolition (1953), widely beloved for its iconic line ‘All for one and one for all’; and the moving drama Parents’ Hearts (1955). Expressing a deep concern for society and a belief in human kindness, these works embody the spirit of Union Film.

Tickets available at URBTIX from 17/7 (Fri).
